She holds a Masters Degree from the Royal College of Art and has worked with renowned studios in Munich, Paris and London. As a creative collaborator, Christina develops projects from concept to realization for commercial and residential interiors, exhibitions, and installations. With a considered multi-disciplinary approach she shapes conceptual and visual narratives as firm foundations of each project. Next to her work as a spatial designer she has assisted curators on publications, exhibitions and trend research. Her own practice and research focuses on space, materiality, and production politics. She collaborates with designers and artists on various projects including an installation at London Design Festival, a workshop for the Royal College of Art and a platform for materiality and crafts with Studio Raw Materials in India. With open curiosity the full life cycle of brick is examined - from raw material to finished product, while stored in brickyards, used and discarded - with the aim to identify moments in the process that can be either harvested differently or manipulated. The approach is marked by a focus on waste products and serendipitous by-products as well as the gestures of material, human and machines. An array of donated materials from a former COS store fit out - such as concrete slabs, end grain oak flooring, galvanised metal railings and carpets - are assemblaged into spatial furniture and act as backdrop for encounters and conversation. Eschewing the idea of the slick, the finished and ‘the true’ in favour of the intangible, the speculative and the in-between, the essay looks at philosophical concepts of The Determinate vs The Indeterminate. Relating these back to an architectural practice, the text examines ways of operating that actively incorporate chance and unpredictably. Those Modi Operandi favour process and investigation to outcome, in order to create an approach that subverts an often formulaic and soulless rendered present. With sources deliberately choosen outside the profession, strategies and inspirtaions from the field of music, poetry and product design are&nbsp;assemblaged in&nbsp;the essay. Stylistically, a main text is accompanied by extensive notes in the margins that allow the reader to dive deeper into certain topics or to digress from the initial narrative altogether.
